**Description**
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, including visual acuity testing, refraction, slit-lamp biomicroscopy, tonometry, and dilated fundus examination, to assess patients' ocular health and diagnose eye conditions accurately.
- Manage and treat a wide range of eye conditions and diseases, including cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), refractive errors, corneal diseases, and retinal disorders.
- Perform ophthalmic surgical procedures, such as cataract extraction with intraocular lens (IOL) implantation, laser-assisted refractive surgeries (LASIK, PRK), glaucoma surgeries (trabeculectomy, tube shunt implantation), corneal transplantation, vitrectomy, and retinal detachment repair, with precision and safety.
- Prescribe medications, eye drops, and topical treatments for various eye conditions, including infections, inflammation, allergies, dry eye syndrome, and ocular hypertension, to manage symptoms and promote ocular health.
- Provide preoperative counseling to patients undergoing ophthalmic surgery, discussing risks, benefits, and alternatives, obtaining informed consent, and addressing patient questions and concerns.
- Educate patients about their eye conditions, treatment options, preventive measures, and lifestyle modifications to promote eye health and minimize the risk of vision loss or complications.
- Collaborate with optometrists, opticians, primary care physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated and comprehensive eye care for patients with systemic conditions affecting the eyes.
- Participate in multidisciplinary conferences, case discussions, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care, promote clinical excellence, and advance ophthalmic practice standards.
