The Buyer position is responsible for handling the procurement workflow process for the requisitions of goods, supplies, and services for all locations globally. The role provides daily support to Regeneron employees and suppliers while adhering to purchasing policies and procedures. The Buyer embraces and recommends operating and transactional process improvements within the Global Purchasing department. This role implements procurement-related projects and tasks and makes decisions within limited parameters under regular supervision.
In this role typical day might include performing the following:
Proactively resolves objectives/needs of purchase requisitions (PRs) and ensures required documentation is incorporated in the PR, which may include, Oracle New Supplier support form, Requisition Support Form, quotes, Draft Contracts, Approved Supplier List (ASL) waivers if applicable, or work orders (WO).
Manages approved PRs and creates purchase orders (POs) in a timely manner while speaking publicly with sourcing team approvers and business requestors. Assures accurate PO line-item structure, supplier entity selection, proper currency, remittance details, and adds contract numbers & notes to guide proper tax exemption and delivery instruction if needed.
Handles invoice hold pricing discrepancies with Accounts Payable to ensure timely and accurate closure of outstanding invoices. Work with business requestors as needed to submit change requisitions in iPro for all POs to be updated and invoices processed. Call outs to Procurement team any contract related issues requiring resolution, e.g., wrong entity, wrong currency, wrong payment terms, etc
Advises and applies the use of P-cards to complete an order for an approved PR when appropriate in lieu of setting up a new supplier and issuing PO’s.
Reconciles monthly P-card expenses in Concur timely and submits for approval.
Directs & advises the appropriate and compliant catalog usage to drive awareness with business requestors to minimize standalone PO’s with catalogue suppliers.
Proactively reviews new supplier requests from iPro requestors and liaises with Procurement, requestor, supplier and Vendor Maintenance as appropriate to facilitate onboarding
Supports supplier requests, contact validation, and coordinates edit related information on existing suppliers. Collaborates with the Vendor Maintenance team to ensure a timely and efficient review and approval of all supplier requests.
Assess new supplier requisitions against use of iPro catalogs to speed the purchasing process and reduce the supplier setup burden if applicable
Ensure PO’s are created in accordance with Regeneron’s contract policy and PO creation procedures.
Assures POs raised within our GxP environment adhere to applicable SOPs and regulatory guidelines
Satisfactorily completes all required trainings and certifications according to established SOP’s.
Supports the requisition to invoice process as required. This may include, but not limited to, responding to audit information requests, participating in compliance reviews, and identifying continuous improvement opportunities working collaboratively with the sourcing team.
Support inquiries to advise and educate partners regarding the sourcing and contract process and seek to identify system/process enhancements.

2-4 years' experience in similar roles within purchasing, finance, AP within a Pharma/Life Sciences/Regulated industry preferred but not required.
