**Job Context & Major Challenges**:
Job Context: West Bengal Cement Works is situated at Durgapur, having the production capacity of 1.4 MTPA. It was established in January 2002 as L&T Cement Ltd. (WBCW) and acquired by Grasim Cement in 2004 and subsequently rebranded as Ultratech Cement Ltd. Raw materials like fly-ash and Slag are sourced from nearby power and steel plants. All products including recent launches like PCC are well accepted in the market. WBCW has one of the lowest manufacturing cost amongst the group units. Present capacity of Packing plant is well equipped to handle 1.5 million ton per year. Logistically plant is well connected by road and rail. Other stengths include good availability of power, Outsourced Contract Workmen, 100% Safety and Statutory Compliances maintained apart from dedicated transporter fleet.
