**Position: Project Coordinator**

**Location**: Rural Technology and Development Center (RTDC)
Village and Post Office Kamlehar Palampur, Himachal Pradesh

**Project Title: Nutritional and Livelihood Security for Marginalised Mountain Women**

The project envisages developing an alternate model for **Nutritional and Livelihood Security for Marginalised Mountain Women through Bio Diverse Mountain Natural Farming and its linkages with the revival of Integrated Sustainable Mountain Livelihood as well as the**
**Revival of Rainfed Mountain Agriculture (Bio Diverse Mountain Natural Farming,**
**Horticulture, Livestock, Fodder and spring shed management through convergence.**
**Measurable outcomes**:

- Development of a manual on feasible practices by adapting the existing knowledge and learning from the field (local language & English version)
- Collectivization and empowerment of beneficiaries
- Proportion of target beneficiaries adopting new models
- Productivity of meat, milk and wool and other by-products
- Quality of lives of producers/ beneficiaries

In the long term, the project activities will lead to arresting and reversing the decline in the population of goats and local poultry, socio-economic empowerment of the target communities through collectivization and a decline in the outmigration among backward and marginalized in long term.

**About RTDC**

Rural Technology Development Centre (RTDC) is a voluntary action group founded in 1988.
RTDC is based in Palampur (Kangra District) in Himachal Pradesh. RTDC has been working on the process of Equity based Mountain specific People’s centred sustainable and Inclusive
Development. RTDC has been facilitating sustainable mountain livelihoods through agriculture and farm-based activities, creative learning centres for children, and helping in child education. RTDC has been facilitating the Participatory Panchayat Micro planning process for strengthening Local Government.

RTDC is a registered society under the Societies Registration Act, of 1860 and registered under the Foreign Contributions Registration Act (FCRA).

**Key Responsibilities**:
He/ she will be responsible for
- Overall management of all project activities/ performance on day to day basis
- Develop linkages with all stakeholders/ agencies/Govt. departments for effective implementation
- Scoping and visits to potential stakeholders/ agencies
- Liaison and mobilisation with the community
- Identification of beneficiaries, need assessments
- Onsite support and handholding to the field team
- Capacity building of Staff and community
- Developing training manuals/ materials, training schedules, feedback, reports, and evaluation
- Ensure timely reporting and documentation
- Projection of advanced market demand through a market survey
- Data management & reporting, communication

**Skills and competencies required**
- Good written and verbal communication
- Willingness to work at the grassroots level in mountain terrain
- Experience working on livelihood development programs with rural communities
- Experience of working with community institutions(SHGs, Producer’s Company ,

Federations)
- Experience and expertise in training and capacity building of community institutions, community leaders, especially women and community resource persons.
- Good project management and planning skills
- Good computer skills
- Good report writing, and proposal writing skills in English
- Good financial management skills

**Language**: English, Hindi

**Experience**: 3-5 years of experience working with rural communities on farm-based livelihood projects.

**Education Qualification**: PG Degree in development related field
- Agriculture, Social Work,
Rural Management, Rural Development, Development studies

**Compensation**: Rs. 2 lakhs per annum, depending upon relevant experience

**Salary**: From ₹200,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Palampur, Himachal Pradesh: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
