Academic Dean

**Position Title**: Dean of Basic Sciences
- **Strategic Planning**: Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the mission and goals of the Basic Sciences department in alignment with the institution's overall strategic direction.
- **Curriculum Development**: Oversee the development, review, and enhancement of undergraduate and graduate programs in the natural sciences, ensuring academic rigor, relevance, and alignment with accreditation standards.
- **Faculty Recruitment and Development**: Recruit, retain, and mentor a diverse and talented faculty team. Provide support for faculty professional development, research initiatives, and teaching excellence.
- **Student Success**: Promote student success and retention by fostering a supportive learning environment, providing academic advising, and facilitating opportunities for research, internships, and experiential learning.
- **Research and Scholarship**: Support and promote faculty research and scholarly activities in the basic sciences, including securing external funding, publishing in reputable journals, and presenting at conferences.
- **Facilities and Resources Management**: Oversee the allocation and management of facilities, laboratories, equipment, and other resources necessary for teaching, research, and student learning in the basic sciences.
- **Community Engagement**: Build and maintain partnerships with industry, government agencies, research institutions, and other stakeholders to enhance research collaborations, internship opportunities, and job placement for students.
- **Budget Administration**: Develop and manage departmental budgets, allocate resources effectively, and seek additional funding sources to support programmatic initiatives and strategic priorities.
- **Accreditation and Assessment**: Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and oversee assessment processes to evaluate student learning outcomes, program effectiveness, and continuous improvement efforts.
- **Diversity and Inclusion**: Foster a diverse and inclusive learning environment that promotes equity, respect, and cultural competence among students, faculty, and staff.
- **Collaboration and Interdisciplinary Initiatives**: Encourage collaboration and interdisciplinary initiatives within the department and across other academic units to address complex scientific challenges and promote innovation.
- **Administrative Responsibilities**: Handle administrative tasks such as faculty hiring, promotion and tenure reviews, course scheduling, academic advising, and reporting to higher administration as required.

**Qualifications**:

- A doctoral degree (Ph.D., M.Sc., B.Sc.,) in a relevant field of basic science (e.g., biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics).
- Substantial academic and administrative experience in higher education, including leadership roles within a Basic Sciences department or related academic unit.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service.
- Knowledge of current trends, technologies, and best practices in STEM education and research.
- Ability to foster collaboration, innovation, and interdisciplinary partnerships.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From ₹2,000,000.00 per year
