- Key missions of the position:_ Promote the continuous improvement culture across the organization, implement Kaizens, Lead 7S journey, drive cost reduction projects, and streamline manufacturing operations to improve SQPDC_
**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for Lean culture promotion across the business unit
- Responsible for 7S journey promotion and implementation
- Responsible for Kaizens execution Approx. 1000 per year
- Coach teammates on Continuous Cost Reduction projects identification and execution; achieve savings > MINR 30 per year
- Coach the cross functional leaders on Value Stream Mapping and execute actions along with them
- Coach the cross functional leaders on Strategic A3 development for Rohtak Site as per Global Wabtec Guidelines (Safety, COPQ, PPM, BO, COTD and Inventory Turns)
- Streamline and Improve the MFG, PMD and PED practices
- Challenge and Eliminate questionable practices with CFT
- Coach and Mentor teams on LT reduction, RFT improvement projects
- Coach and mentor teams on Gold Standard and Brilliant WH initiatives
- Responsible to Develop and Design Lean Processes, improve efficiencies, reduce cost in sustainable way and delight internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Responsible to implement JIT sytem, Kanban system and 2-bin system
- Drive Lean Projects on Warehouse space reduction, Warehouse efficiency improvement (Picking time reduction, no. of manpower reduction, automation activities etc): Packaging Cost reduction, Alternative solutions of packaging etc
- Drive lean projects on Logistics cost reduction: Optimization and consolidation etc..
Education/Training & Industry Domain
- _ What education and education level are necessary for the position?_
Education / Skills:
- Full Time Engineering Degree in Mechanical/Automobile/Electrical/Electronics/Production & Industrial Engineering from reputed Institute
- MTech or ME or MBA in Manufacturing/Operations (will be an added advantage)
- Mandatory Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification from reputed international body
Professional Experience
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in Lean Manufacturing, Operations Excellence, World Class Manufacturing from Auto or Heavy Engineering Industry
- Demonstrated skills on VSM, 7s, Kaizens, Kanban and A3 Strategic Thinking implementation
- Hands on experience in ERP & Excel Macro skills
- Analytic & synthesis skill
- Communication skills
- Problem Solving skills: Mandatory: 5Why, RCA, 8D, PDCA,etc
- Organizational & time management skills
- Solid experience of working in multi-functional teams and large-scale projects
- Strong emotional intelligence and relationship building ability
- Solid communication, presentation, facilitation, and discussion skills
- Highly organized and able to remain flexible to the changing business needs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly data-driven and process orientated
- Self-motivated/ Go getter/ Self Driven/ Needs minimum supervision
- Demonstrated commitment for process improvement
