Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:

- **Transcription of Medical Reports**: Accurately transcribe dictations from healthcare professionals, including patient consultations, examination findings, and treatment plans.
- **Familiarity with Medical Terminology**: Utilize knowledge of relevant medical terminology and procedures to ensure precise transcription.
- **Editing and Proofreading**: Review and edit transcribed documents for grammatical accuracy, clarity, and completeness, ensuring high-quality medical records.
- **Patient Information Management**: Maintain organized records of patient visits, including histories, diagnoses, and follow-up notes, ensuring easy retrieval and confidentiality.
- **Confidentiality Compliance**: Uphold patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and hospital policies when handling sensitive information.
- **Collaboration with Healthcare Providers**: Communicate effectively with healthcare staff to clarify any ambiguities in dictations or patient information.
- **Utilization of EHR Systems**: Proficiently use electronic health record (EHR) systems for entering, managing, and retrieving patient data and transcriptions.
- **Time Management**: Prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines, especially during busy periods in the outpatient department.
- **Continuous Professional Development**: Stay updated on advancements in medical transcription practices to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- **Assistance and Support**: Provide support to the reception team and assist with patient queries as needed, contributing to a smooth workflow in the OPD.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical transcription preferred.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and typing skills.
- Experience with transcription software and electronic health record (EHR) systems is an advantage.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills.
