**Duties And Responsibilities**

1. To maintain the stock inventory, so that the pharmacy should not run out of stock for any required item.

2. To maintain the duty roster in such a way that the staff should be available round the clock in the pharmacy.

3. To arrange any new drug/product on urgent basis for the emergency cases.

4. To meet doctors, to discuss if any new product has encountered any problem while being used.

5. To maintain regular stock check on monthly basis and submit the same report to the Sr. Manager - Pharmacy.

6. To maintain proper documentation for the items received from the bulk stores or vendors and items issued to the patients or wards.

7. To check the expiry date of the products available in the pharmacy and return the products back to the vendors’ minimum three months in advance from the date of expiry.

8. To check if all bills for the pharmacy items issued to a patient are up to date and has been submitted to the billing department.

9. To return back any pharmacy item which is physically damaged either while handling or while transportation.

10. Attending programs of committee meetings

11. To follow the discipline, punctuality and the duty roster strictly.

12. To raise indents to Central pharmacy, maintain the reorder levels for all the stocks in the pharmacy.

13. To monitor the inventory, so as to achieve optimum level.

14. To ensure proper material storage - FIFO to be followed, proper labeling and arrangement of stocks to be maintained.

15. To issue and dispense the material to different patients and other stores corresponding to the indents received.

16. To ensure that all stores records are kept in order as per the statutory requirement.

17. To ensure minimum stock variance between physical vis-à-vis system / virtual stock.

18. To follow and implement the pharmacy management **sop’s**.

19. To monitor the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances procurement, storage, issues and record maintenance as per regulatory requirements.

20. To regularly communicate with all the other departments of hospital.

21. To actively participate in THE NABH and all future accreditations.
