Websphere Administrator

5+ years experience in installation, configuration, and administration of WebSphere Commerce Server 7.x, WebSphere Application Server 7.x/8.x, WebSphere ESB 6.x, WebSphere MQ 6.x and IBM HTTP server 7.x/8.x, in Unix / Linux environment.
- 3+ years experience in configuration and administration of IBM DB2 9.x database, in Unix / Linux environment.
- Expert-level understanding of the admin console and the ability to deploy code.
- Experienced in WebSphere Plugin configuration.
- Experienced in WebSphere monitoring / troubleshooting methodologies and PMRs.
- Experienced in UNIX / LINUX commands, Shell Scripting and OS system monitoring.
- Experienced in WSAdmin, JACL and Jython scripts to automate the WAS administration activities.
- Experienced in configuring JDBC Providers, Data Source and JMS Providers.
- Experience with WebSphere migrations from WAS 6.x to 7.x and / or 7.x to 8.x.
- Exposure to WebSphere adapters for IBM i, SAP, JDBC, and FTP.
- Exposure to WAS Systems architecture / clustering / WLM and Capacity planning.
- Exposure to WS Security and industry security mechanisms like Policy servers and LDAP.
- Good exposure to documentation and preparing Architecture diagrams.
- Good knowledge of Web services (e.g., SOAP, UDDI, WSDL, ANT, SQL, etc.).
- Good understanding of WebSphere runtime topologies, HTTP server concepts.
- Good understanding of basic Internet concepts (e.g., firewalls, web browsers, TCP/IP, SSL, HTTP, DNS, Telnet, SSH, FTP, etc.).
- Should be able to Configure and maintain WebSphere messaging, WebSphere MQ, DB resources, Session pool and connection pool.
- Design solutions in alignment with technology strategies and roadmaps.
- Formulate and document backup and recovery plans, test the plan periodically, and lead any needed recovery effort.
- Maintain CVS version control system.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting high volume WebSphere Commerce environments.
- Advanced problem solving, domain technical and analytical skills.
