**Job Title: Research Associate (Social Science)**

**Location: Ahmedabad**

**Role**

As the Research Assistant (Social Science) at Utthan, you will play a vital role in aiding the organization's knowledge management processes. This will include managing both physical and digital collections of Utthan, as well as supporting data collection, analysis, and report writing. Additionally, you will be responsible for handling administrative and logístical tasks related to knowledge management.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Managing both physical and digital records/collections of Utthan, including digitization and digital preservation activities
- Support Lead - Knowledge management in providing reference services to researchers, scholars, and other stakeholders.
- Conducting literature reviews and summarizing relevant research findings
- Assisting with the design and implementation of research studies, including survey development and data collection
- Cleaning, managing, and analyzing research data using statistical software.
- Contributing to the preparation of research reports, presentations, and manuscripts for publication
- Managing project files and maintaining accurate records of research activities

**Competencies expected.**
- Proficient in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, Stata, R)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Experience with research project management is a plus

**Required Skills and Experience**

**Education**:

- Bachelor's degree in social science or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

**Experience**:

- At least 1-2 years of experience in social science research, including research methods and statistical analysis.

**Language**:

- Fluency in oral and written English essential.
- Working knowledge of Gujarati and/or Hindi essential.

**Travel**
- Willingness to travel to field areas as required

**Salary Range**:
Rs. 1,80,000/- to Rs.2,40,000/- p.a. (based on experience and knowledge and as per the organizational norms)
