**Your Role and Responsibilities**

As a Backup Admin, you are responsible to provide SME level technical support with high degree of Customer Happiness by meeting Service Level Agreements (SLA) and process compliance. You will perform business impact analysis and risk assessments to reduce the likelihood of significant service outage or disasters. - You will Audit Backup Policies and environments to ensure integrity of Backup & Restore activities.
- You will Pro-actively determine possible faults by execution of predetermined health and operational checks to provide the highest backup success rate.
- You will Participate in recovery activities when required.
- You will Analyse and resolve escalated problem within target timelines.
- You will perform Hardware/Software fault detection.
- You will perform coordination and timely follow-up with OEM for issue resolution.
- Installation, Updating and configuration of Master Media and clients using Veritas NetBackup for Windows servers and Linux servers.
- Extensively worked on various Backup Integration like Oracle, SQL, VMware.
- Administering NetBackup Master and Media servers and Dedup Appliances.
- Administration and troubleshooting skills on: NetBackup.
- Experience in Tape Library management, VTL’s like HP StoreOnce and troubleshooting and firmware upgradation.
- Backup Schedule Monitoring & Management & Reporting.
- Mail Responses & Ticket queue monitoring and updating.
- Standard Monthly Reports and Backup SLA reporting.
- Maintain and Update compliance documents periodically.
- You will Manage data movement within Backup Servers.
- You will Participate and Lead in SEV1 incidents.
- You will Prepare RCA for SEV1 issues with respect to Backup.
- You will perform capacity planning and backup & restore performance tuning.

**Required Technical and Professional Expertise**
- Experience of Installing/Configuring NetBackup Master, Client, and Media Servers.
- Experience on Unix Platform esp. Red Hat Linux and Windows.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to explain technical issues in both a factual and well-structured manner.
- Experience in medium to large IT infrastructure across multiple datacentres.
- Good understanding of enterprise level change, incident, and problem management process.
- Effective communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with other teams.
- Experience of Installing/Configuring/Upgrading NetBackup.
- Experience of NetBackup Virtual Environments Backup and Recovery.
- You Should have performed Implementation, Configuration, Migration and Steady State support phases of the Backup Management.
- Scripting knowledge on Shell/Awk/Ansible.
- Automation - Integration with Ticketing tool.

**Preferred Technical and Professional Experience**
- Knowledge of NetBackup architecture and inter process communication and flow.
- Knowledge of NetBackup DB, Log, Server, and Client Options.
- Knowledge of data-deduplication writ to NetBackup.
- Knowledge of NetBackup Replication implementation and management.
- Knowledge on VTL/Cloud Storage for data storage purposes in AWS, Azure, GCP.
- Knowledge on configuring NAS backup and storage pools.
- Knowledge on Cluster concepts and HADR.
