**About the role**:
The role focuses on developing and implementing placement strategies for ITIs and VTIs in Karnataka to maximize industry engagement and job opportunities for trainees. It includes capacity building for placement officers, aligning industry needs with skill training, and creating targeted placement plans. Responsibilities include supporting trainees with resume building and interview preparation, evaluating placement initiatives for improvement, networking with employers to maintain a robust database, and managing teams to achieve program goals while ensuring their growth and well-being. The role requires flexibility, stakeholder management, a focus on youth employability, and readiness for nationwide travel.
**Responsibilities**:
- Collaborate with internal program implementation teams to design and implement placement strategies that drive systemic change for ITIs and VTIs in Karnataka.
- Ensure robust industry engagement and maximize job opportunities for trainees.
- Strengthen the capabilities of placement officers from partner organizations to effectively plan and execute placement-related activities within their institutions.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with industries and employers in Karnataka.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand skill demands, analyze placement trends, and create job opportunities aligned with trainees’ skill sets.
- Formulate detailed placement plans in collaboration with program teams and training partners.
- Identify target industries, job roles, and strategies to align trainees with appropriate employment opportunities.
- Provide hands-on support to trainees during their job placement journey, including resume development, interview preparation, and fostering networking opportunities to improve employability.
- Monitor and evaluate placement initiatives by tracking job placements, retention rates, and employer feedback.
- Identify gaps and implement necessary improvements to enhance program outcomes.
- Build active working relationships with representatives from companies, industry bodies, and placement officers.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of potential employers, ensuring accessibility for program partners.
- Manage facilitators, interns, and program associates as required.
- Plan and execute capacity-building initiatives to enhance team effectiveness and foster professional growth.
- Set clear annual and quarterly goals for team members and conduct regular reviews.
- Serve as a role model, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and promoting the welfare of team members in collaboration with the People team.
**Requirements**:
- **Experience**: 2-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the youth employability sector.
- **Stakeholder Management**: Proficiency in liaising with multiple stakeholders and managing partnerships.
- **Team Collaboration**: Ability to manage and work effectively with teams across diverse geographies.
- **Target-Oriented**: Ability to meet program goals and adapt flexibly to program needs.
- **Travel Ready**: Willingness to undertake external visits and travel extensively across the country.
