Air Monitring

**Maintains, repairs, and modifies air monitoring equipment using a variety of test equipment**; performs preventative maintenance on instruments;
participates in particulate instrument filter changes, analysis, and processing; performs weekly and quarterly checks of samplers.
- Monitoring equipment: Operating, calibrating, and maintaining instruments that measure air pollution and meteorological conditions
- Data collection: Recording, analyzing, and reporting data on air quality and weather
- Compliance: Ensuring that air quality regulations are followed to protect human health and natural resources
- Communication: Communicating technical information to non-technical stakeholder
- Safety: Ensuring that safety training is completed and safety rules are followed.
- Equipment selection: Choosing the right sampling, measuring, or monitoring equipment based on the pollutant, its quantity, and location
- Source identification: Measuring the sources of air pollution, such as exhaust temperature, flow rates, and pressure
- Meteorological measurements: Measuring wind speed, wind direction, pressure, and humidity
- Instrument performance evaluation: Evaluating instrument performance and replacing or repairing parts as needed
- Site management: Operating and maintaining air monitoring stations at assigned locations.
