The Commercial Executive is responsible for overseeing the sales order approval process and managing the debtor side of operations on SAP, particularly accounts receivable, for an industrial electrical product supplier company. This role involves close collaboration with the sales, finance, and operations teams to ensure smooth execution of orders, maintaining healthy cash flow, and minimizing risks associated with credit sales. The Commercial Manager will provide critical analysis and decisions related to customer credit terms, sales approvals, and collections.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Sales Order Approval**:

- Review and approve all sales orders, ensuring compliance with company policies and credit limits.
- Analyze customer accounts to ensure they meet payment terms before approving new orders.
- Collaborate with the sales team to assess and resolve any issues related to order discrepancies or client requirements.
- Ensure orders align with stock availability, pricing agreements, and delivery capabilities.
- **Accounts Receivable Management**:

- Oversee the debtor side of operations, ensuring timely collection of accounts receivable.
- Monitor customer credit exposure, track overdue accounts, and work with the finance team to develop and execute collection strategies.
- Conduct regular reviews of customer payment performance and provide reports to senior management on collection risks.
- Implement credit control measures to minimize bad debts and ensure appropriate risk management.
- **Customer Credit and Risk Management**:

- Assess and approve customer credit limits based on their financial standing, payment history, and market reputation.
- Evaluate potential risks in extending credit to new customers or increasing limits for existing ones.
- Work with the finance team to develop and maintain a customer risk assessment model.
- Implement corrective actions for customers with poor payment records, including reducing credit limits or adjusting payment terms.
- **Commercial Strategy and Reporting**:

- Develop and implement commercial strategies in line with business goals and market conditions.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on pricing, payment terms, and credit policies.
- Generate reports on order approvals, receivables, and overdue accounts for management review.
- Ensure compliance with all internal policies, external regulations, and industry best practices.
- **Collaboration and Communication**:

- Act as a liaison between sales, operations, and finance to ensure a smooth and efficient order-to-cash process.
- Work closely with external stakeholders, such as banks and credit insurance providers, to ensure adequate financial risk management.
- Resolve any disputes or issues with customers related to orders, credit terms, or payments.

**Key Qualifications**:

- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
- **Experience**:

- 2+ years of experience in commercial management, preferably within SAP knowledge.
- Proven experience in credit control, sales order management, and accounts receivable operations.
- **Skills**:

- Strong understanding of financial statements, credit management, and risk assessment.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in ERP and accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

**Performance Metrics**:

- Accuracy and timeliness of sales order approvals.
- Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and reduction in overdue receivables.
- Minimization of bad debts and effective credit risk management.
- Improvement in order-to-cash process efficiency.
