Associate Dean-student Discipline

**Job Summary**:
The Dean of Student Discipline and Safety Cell is responsible for fostering a safe and conducive learning environment by overseeing all matters related to student discipline and safety within the educational institution. This role involves enforcing disciplinary policies, promoting student well-being, and addressing issues related to student behavior and safety concerns. The Dean will collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders to develop and implement strategies to maintain a positive and secure campus environment.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures related to student conduct, discipline, and safety, ensuring alignment with institutional values and legal regulations.
- Lead investigations into reported incidents of student misconduct, including academic dishonesty, harassment, bullying, substance abuse, and other behavioral violations.
- Collaborate with relevant departments, such as student affairs, counseling services, and campus security, to address student concerns and promote a holistic approach to student well-being.
- Provide guidance and support to faculty, staff, and students on matters related to student discipline, safety protocols, and crisis management.
- Implement preventative measures and educational programs to promote a culture of respect, responsibility, and accountability among students.
- Maintain accurate records of disciplinary incidents, investigations, and outcomes, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection laws.
- Communicate regularly with students, faculty, and staff to disseminate information on disciplinary policies, safety initiatives, and resources available for student support.
- Coordinate training sessions and workshops for faculty, staff, and students on topics such as conflict resolution, bystander intervention, and campus safety protocols.
- Serve as a liaison between the institution and external agencies, including law enforcement, legal counsel, and community organizations, regarding student discipline and safety matters.
- Stay informed about current trends, best practices, and legal developments in student affairs, discipline, and safety, and incorporate relevant knowledge into institutional policies and practices.
**Skills**:
- Graduation required in education, counseling, student affairs, or a related field.
- Previous experience in student affairs, discipline management, or a related field within an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of student development theories, behavior management strategies, and legal issues related to student rights and responsibilities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, and handle sensitive situations with tact and professionalism.
- At least 10yrs experience required.
