**Job Title: Restaurant Captain**
**Responsibilities**:
**Guest Service**:
- Ensure a high standard of customer service by leading and motivating the front-of-house staff.
- Greet and seat guests, addressing any special requests or preferences.
- Monitor the dining experience to ensure guest satisfaction.
**Team Management**:
- Supervise, train, and mentor waitstaff, assigning duties and responsibilities.
- Conduct pre-shift briefings to communicate daily specials, promotions, and service expectations.
- Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication and efficient service.
**Order Management**:
- Take and relay orders accurately to the kitchen, ensuring special dietary requirements are communicated.
- Oversee the delivery of food and beverages to tables, ensuring proper presentation and timing.
- Handle guest complaints and concerns professionally and promptly.
**Table Turnover**:
- Manage table reservations and optimize table turnover without compromising guest satisfaction.
- Monitor and control the flow of guests in the dining area to prevent overcrowding or delays.
**Upselling and Promotion**:
- Promote and upsell menu items, daily specials, and promotions.
- Have a thorough knowledge of the menu and be able to make recommendations based on guest preferences.
**Quality Control**:
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the dining area, overseeing the setup and breakdown of tables.
- Monitor the quality and presentation of food and beverages, addressing any issues promptly.
**Billing and Payments**:
- Handle billing transactions accurately and efficiently, ensuring correct settlement of bills.
- Resolve any payment discrepancies and coordinate with the cashier or financial department.
**Compliance and Training**:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Conduct ongoing training for staff on service standards, menu knowledge, and customer service.
**Qualifications**:
**Experience**:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or captain role within the restaurant industry.
**Communication Skills**:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
**Customer Focus**:
- A strong focus on customer satisfaction and service excellence.
**Leadership**:
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
**Problem-Solving**:
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to handle customer complaints.

- Thorough knowledge of food and beverage operations, menu items, and wine service.
**Flexibility**:
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
