Speech-language Pathologist at Early Autism Services

**_Summary/Objective_**

The Speech-Language Pathologist is primarily responsible for providing speech therapy to children in the clinic setting. This can include prework to get the client ready to be scheduled, then scheduling, evaluating, and treating the client. In addition, the SLP is expected to complete necessary paperwork for treatment.

**_ Main Responsibilities:_**
- Confirm all paperwork is received to begin services. Perform comprehensive diagnostic evaluations on children, primarily but not exclusively, ages 2-6. Analyze, interpret, and document evaluation results and share it with relevant parties in due time Develop patient care plan with appropriate short and long-term goals and share access with relevant parties.
- Work with the Clinic Director regarding scheduling evaluations and sessions. Maintain all records in compliance with regulations, reimbursement requirements, and job responsibilities. Plan and provide evidence-based individual and/or group therapy according to individual needs and goals.
- Demonstrate kindness and compassion toward clients and coworkers.
- Demonstrate cultural competence while working with clients and families.
- Perform routine documentation of client performance including daily session notes with objective data, progress reports, and re-evaluation reports as needed. Provide family education and training to assist in carryover of skills into a client's daily living environment.
- Conduct regular trainings for staff, parents and community. Communicate with other EAS team members including Occupational Therapist, BCBA, QBA, ABATs. Review current ABA therapeutic plan and implement behavior strategies when appropriate with training.
- Problem solve when problems arise in the clinic.
- Promote speech therapy within the clinic by educating the other disciplines on what is speech therapy and how it could benefit clients. Communicate materials and assessments needed in the clinic to perform therapy to the Director of ST/OT.
- Be knowledgeable about new therapy research
- Demonstrate willingness to learn and grow as a therapist.

**_ Required Skills/Abilities:_**
- Passion for working with children with ASD
- 2+ years of Experience working in a pediatric outpatient clinic (preferred)
- Proven extensive clinical competency
- Self-starter and independent after training
- Outstanding verbal and written skills
- Proficient experience with Microsoft Word

**_ Education and Experience:_**

Bachelor's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent)
