Digital Equalizer is AIF's flagship education program. Since its inception in 2004, the Program has

empowered 5.4 million children with interactive STEM experiences, trained 182,025 teachers in

STEM pedagogy, and transformed 24,471 schools across 35 states and union territories of the

country. DE Program utilizes technology to bridge the educational and digital divide in India by

transforming under-resourced government schools into dynamic places to teach and learn through

collaborative, project-based learning and building 21stcentury skills amongst students, especially

girls.

**ABOUT DIGITAL EQUALIZER**

Digital Equalizer (DE) envisions a world where all children from under-served communities,
especially girls, are prepared for a career and life. The program is bridging India’s digital divide by
providing and integrating technology into underperforming, under-resourced public schools,
training teachers in techno-pedagogy and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and
Mathematics) methodology, and transforming classrooms into collaborative and interactive places
for students to learn while preparing them for success in the 21st century global economy. Since
its inception in 2004, the Program has empowered 5.4 million children with interactive STEM
experiences, trained 182,025 teachers in STEM pedagogy, and transformed 24,471 schools across
35 states and union territories of the country.

**Objectives of the project: **

Strengthen STEM school education in rural government schools.

Improve the performance of underprivileged girl students from government schools in
competitive exams.

Build the institutional capacity of 5 District Institute for Education Training (DIETs) on
STEM learning, techno-pedagogy, and preparation of students for the competitive exam
over 4.5 years.

Institutionalize best practices for sustainability through creation of a playbook in
partnership with the government and sharing evidence of the same.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The SMEs will be looking over the curation of content on **Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and**

and the execution of trainings/sessions as per the requirement of the project.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Support the Project Lead in implementation of the project activities to ensure that

appropriate project deliverables are met.

Managing the development of the content for the project and liaising with AIF’s

knowledge partners for ensuring quality checks and validation of the content being

delivered under the activities of the project

Working closely with the agency on designing the pedagogical tools such as audio-visuals,

learning materials, self-paced courses for an online platform/LMS, and question banks for

students.

Supervising and coordinating with the knowledge partners for curating content and

questions banks for physics/chemistry/biology/math.

Validating and cross-checking the content in varying proficiency levels such as beginner,

Directing to create lesson plans for students at various levels.

Tracking timelines and progression of the sessions as per the lesson plans

Conducting trainings and workshops for the teachers and other staffs as when required

Capacity building of the teachers to prepare the students for competitive examination

independently.

Disseminate the modules among AIF staffs and other schools to ensure sustainability.

Coordination with knowledge partners for conducting the sessions

Coordination with the project team for conducting training workshops for students and

teachers.

Conducting research and documentation of STEM resources and best practices in STEM

education that can be leveraged by the Project team.

Designing and preparation of facilitator training manuals, questionnaires, worksheets, and

assessments

Designing and preparation of content framework and schedules.

Knowledge and understanding of learning management systems and assessment platforms

such as Skolera, Quizizz, Kahoot etc.

Working with the partner agency and schools for validation and quality checks on the

content.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
