Translator

1. Should be able to translate typed interview contents in Hindi to English [for Lucknow] while preserving the original meaning, format, and tone

2. Should be able to translate typed interview contents in Mizo to English [For Aizawl] while preserving the original meaning, format, and tone

3. Take notes during Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) and In
- Depth Interviews (IDIs) during Rapid Formative Assessment phase

4. Do proof reading and editing of work, collaborate with team members and clients, using new translation tools and practices.

5. To deliver high-quality translated content that aligns with study requirements and enables us to effectively engage a broader audience.

6. Keep record of all translated documents of data collection forms and submit it at the end of consultancy

7. Provide daily reports on the progress made on task assigned

8. Submitting completed translated materials to research team and correcting any errors as per their feedback.

**The Expected Deliverables are**:

- Carefully reading and comprehending the context of the given material, utilizing specialized dictionaries and translation tools, and meticulously proofreading the final translations.
- Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail and fluency in at least two additional languages, in addition to your native language.
- Proofread translated texts for grammar, spelling and punctuation accuracy
- Follow up with internal team members and clients to ensure translation meets their needs
- Understanding client specifications and noting any formatting or notation requests prior to completing the translation
- Completing translation in a timely manner and reviewing drafts for any spelling, grammar, or formatting errors, as well as other inconsistencies.
- Adhering to all confidential guidelines and respecting sensitive information.
- Showing up on time for scheduled focus group discussions and interviews.

**Qualifications, Experience and Skill-Set**:

- Bachelor's degree with relevant experience. Degree requirement may be waived in case of exceptional experience
- Proven work experience as a Translator, Interpreter or similar role with experience of working on public health or in research project will be advantages.
- Persons, who had prior experience of working with PWID and at-risk population is an added advantage.
- possess strong linguistic abilities and a passion for languages
- Fluency in at least two languages in addition to your native language
- Excellent proofreading skills with the ability to identify grammar, spelling and punctuation errors
- Good knowledge of content editing tools
- Familiarity with translation software
- Time-management skills
- Exemplary oral and written communication skills in English, Hindi, Mizo and local languages.
- Willingness to be located in focal state, and travel at least 15-20 days per month to field locations

Contract length: 2 months

**Salary**: ₹20,000.00 - ₹21,000.00 per month
