We are seeking a skilled and passionate News Reporter to join our team. As a News Reporter, you will be responsible for researching, investigating, and reporting on news stories of local, national, or international significance. You will work closely with editors, producers, and other team members to deliver accurate, engaging, and timely news coverage across various platforms.
**Responsibilities**:
- Researching and gathering information on news topics from various sources, including interviews, press releases, and official statements.
- Investigating and verifying the accuracy of information obtained through research.
- Writing clear, concise, and compelling news stories for publication or broadcast.
- Conducting interviews with sources to gather additional information and insights.
- Attending press conferences, events, and community gatherings to report on newsworthy events.
- Collaborating with editors, producers, and other team members to develop story ideas and angles.
- Adhering to ethical standards and journalistic principles in all aspects of reporting.
- Meeting deadlines and delivering news stories on time and within established guidelines.
- Engaging with audiences and responding to feedback and inquiries.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a news reporter or journalist, preferably in a professional newsroom environment.
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of AP style and journalistic best practices.
- Familiarity with digital media tools and platforms.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Demonstrated commitment to journalistic integrity and ethics.
- A passion for storytelling and a curiosity for uncovering the truth.
