As an Elasticsearch Administrator, you'll be responsible for configuring, administering, and maintaining the Elasticsearch cluster environments. Responsibilities include Elasticsearch-related activities such as monitoring, upgrades, patching, security, troubleshooting, issue resolution, backup procedures, writing queries, and performance tuning. In addition, you will provide support and direction to developers and other support personnel as needed. This role requires the ability to work independently on live production performance issues working with multiple teams.

**Your key responsibilities would be**:

- Install, configure, patch, maintain, and upgrade, Elasticsearch setups.
- Setup and monitor backups
- Implement and test recovery techniques
- Diagnose and troubleshoot the Elasticsearch environment
- Fine-tune the Elasticsearch environment or make tuning recommendations
- Writing and optimizing Elasticsearch queries
- Setup monitoring and alerts for the on-premise and hosted environments
- 4 to 6 years of experience in setting up Elastic clusters, management, and monitoring on both Elastic cloud and on-premise environments.
- Proven experience in managing Elasticsearch database configurations
- Excellent understanding of relevant search-related concepts
- Experience in tuning the Elasticsearch search performance and query optimization on terabytes of data.
- Experience in tuning the Elasticsearch indexing performance to have an indexing rate of 10k documents per second or more.
- Experience in optimization of text search queries, relevance scoring, tokenizers, and analyzers for searching
- Detailed understanding of ES hot threads, garbage collection, internal stats, and logs.
- Experience with creating Kibana dashboards.
- Experience with setting up Elastic APM and ELK for log collection (Including Filebeat and Metricbeat)

**Good to have skills**:

- Setting up and managing Elasticsearch in the Kubernetes environment
- Exposure to NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
