Position Overview:
The SPES Education Office Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the SPES education department within an educational institution. This role involves assisting with various office tasks, maintaining records, organizing meetings, and communicating with students, parents, and staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide general administrative support to the SPES education department, including filing, photocopying, and data entry.

2. Maintain and update student records and databases in compliance with confidentiality policies and regulations.

3. Assist in the organization and coordination of Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings, including scheduling, preparing documents, and distributing meeting materials.

4. Communicate with parents, students, and staff regarding SPES education services, scheduling, and inquiries, both in person and over the phone.

5. Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and other school personnel to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications are implemented for students with SPES needs.

6. Assist in the coordination of SPES education events, workshops, and training sessions.

7. Collect and compile data related to SPES education programs and outcomes.

8. Prepare and distribute correspondence, memos, and reports as required.

9. Support the special education team in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

10. Perform other administrative tasks as assigned by the SPES education supervisor or office manager.

**Requirements**:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in office administration is a plus.

2. Experience working in an educational or SPES education setting is preferred.

3. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database management.

4. Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

5. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

6. Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.

7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

8. Knowledge of SPES education policies and procedures is an advantage.
