**Job Purpose**:
Considering the One DT approach of the Legal Function, POSH & Ethics, the complications of age-old matters, the multiple interaction points, it is imperative to have a single Point of Contact for managing the Legal Documents, Portals, Old records, Agreements, Monitoring the legal compliances, NDAs, NOCs etc, to be legal ready and reduce cycle time.

**Job Context & Major Challeneges**:
**Job Context**:
Timely completion of the renewal of the Agreement. Time-bound filing of taxes. Coordination with different stakeholders for documentation of litigation.

**Major Challenges**:Since this is an old factory and a complex Unit depending a lot on the Legal Govt. Mechanical, timely completion of given work is a challenge. Record collection of age-old litigations is another challenge Documentation and legal portal updation of VW is also a challenge considering the prevalent issues.

**Supporting Actions**

Ensuring timely execution and renewal of agreements
- Execution of fresh agreements for VW Unit
- Processing arrangements of Management & Security Agreements of The Sun Temple at Gwalior
- Renewal of Service Agreements for JST.
- Tallying of the approvals with the financial variables and performing an internal audit of all supportive documents for the above agreements

Ensuring Legal Compliance
- To assist in physical verification of compliance including those where no documentary proof can be adhered.
- Monitoring and assisting in Audit check for document verification as NOC & Consent from all employees to share their personal details with the organization, as per IT Regulations for “Sensitive Information” under Data Protection Act which has come into operation since August, 2023
- Assist in physical verification of the Compliance Report, sent to CEO/COO on a monthly basis, as and when necessary;

Age-old Litigations
- To track down all aged Litigations lying dormant at the record of High Court at Alipore
- To extract records of Long-pending cases existing in names of our predecessor (Indian Rayon Industries) pending long at the record rooms of Calcutta High Courts
- Close the same as required from CFD & Central Legal Team

Document Repository
- Upstocking/Maintaining/ Filing Cases, Agreements and keeping track of all legal documents
- Maintaining Repository of Purchase Orders, Advocate Invoices, NDAs, Notices, Summons, dishonoured cheques, Licences, received by Legal Department

Miscellaneous
- To take down dictation of Notices;
- To co-ordinate with advocates for taking note of Next Date and Stage;
- To assist in workings of the Legal Department
- Collecting Invoices form Advocates, maintaining a register for the same to avoid any repetition while making Payment.
- Taking dictation of Demand Notice drafting,
- Feeding legal updates in Provakil and generation of monthly certificates.
- Collecting Invoices form Advocates, maintaining a register
- To physically visit Government Officials for collection of Tax Demand Notice and preparing Forwarding Letters as an evidence as payment of the same.
- Procurement of Physical Stamp papers From Court Vendors at Kolkata
- Maintaining and updating legal files.

Control and monitoring of the Legal Portal
- Synchronizing and working on the Legal Portal for DT
- Updating and uploading of all Agreements/Licences/NOCs at the Legal Portal for all Units

Grievance Management Cell
- Assist in dealing with complaints made to Grievance Cell related to IT services as Legal Department holds the position of the Chief Grievance Officer for the entire DT Business.
