Key Responsibilities:

- **Supervision and Staff Management**:

- Assign duties to housekeeping staff, including room attendants, laundry attendants, and public area cleaners.
- Conduct daily briefings and communicate important information, such as special guest requests, VIP rooms, and maintenance needs.
- Train new team members on cleaning procedures, use of equipment, and customer service standards.
- Monitor the team’s performance and provide feedback to ensure consistent quality.
- **Quality Control and Room Inspections**:

- Perform routine inspections of guest rooms, hallways, and common areas to ensure cleanliness and that hotel standards are met.
- Address any issues found during inspections by guiding staff on corrective actions.
- Develop and implement quality checklists and procedures for efficient, thorough inspections.
- **Inventory and Supply Management**:

- Monitor housekeeping supplies and amenities, and ensure they are stocked appropriately.
- Place orders for new supplies as needed and maintain inventory records.
- Control supply usage to reduce waste and manage costs efficiently.
- **Scheduling and Task Management**:

- Create work schedules for housekeeping staff, adjusting as needed to meet occupancy demands.
- Ensure adequate staff coverage during peak times, such as check-in and check-out hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Manage requests for time off and approve shift changes to ensure smooth operation.
- **Health, Safety, and Compliance**:

- Ensure that all housekeeping staff follow health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Train staff on the safe handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
- Conduct safety audits and address any potential hazards in work areas.
- **Guest Interaction and Special Requests**:

- Respond promptly to guest requests, such as additional room amenities or special cleaning services.
- Address guest complaints regarding room cleanliness or housekeeping services, resolving issues to their satisfaction.
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Front Office, Maintenance) to address guest needs and preferences.
- **Administrative Duties**:

- Prepare reports on housekeeping activities, including daily room status, staff performance, and any significant issues.
- Monitor and maintain housekeeping budgets and track expenses.
- Update records for staff attendance, training, and performance evaluations.

Required Skills and Qualities:

- **Strong Attention to Detail**: Ability to notice and address even minor cleanliness or maintenance issues.
- **Leadership and People Management**: Skilled at motivating and managing a diverse team.
- **Organizational Skills**: Capable of prioritizing tasks and handling multiple responsibilities efficiently.

- **Time Management**: Ensure timely completion of all cleaning tasks in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- **Physical Stamina**: Ability to work on foot and assist with hands-on cleaning when needed.

Typical Qualifications:

- Previous experience in housekeeping or a related field, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of housekeeping and laundry operations, cleaning techniques, and sanitation standards.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
