**Job Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Collection Design**: Conceptualize and design new clothing collections (seasonal or year-round), considering market trends, customer preferences, and the brand’s target audience.
- **Trend Analysis**: Research fashion trends, fabric innovations, colors, prints, and cultural influences to incorporate into designs and maintain the brand’s relevance in the marketplace.
- **Sketching & Illustration**: Create hand-drawn sketches or digital illustrations to visually communicate design ideas and concepts.
- **Fabric Selection**: Work with the materials team to select fabrics, trims, and other components that align with your designs and meet the technical and budgetary requirements.
- **Technical Design**: Create technical drawings and detailed specifications for manufacturers, ensuring the designs are feasible to produce within budget and on time.
- **Sample Development**: Oversee the creation of design samples, working closely with pattern makers, sample makers, and manufacturers to ensure the designs are accurately produced.
- **Fit Sessions**: Participate in fittings with models or fit models, and adjust designs based on the results to ensure proper fit, comfort, and aesthetic appeal.
- **Collaboration**: Collaborate with the marketing, sales, and production teams to ensure designs meet brand guidelines, production deadlines, and commercial expectations.
- **Costing & Budgeting**: Work with the production and sourcing teams to develop accurate cost estimates and manage the design process within the established budget.
- **Quality Control**: Ensure that final designs meet quality standards and are produced to the highest level of craftsmanship.
- **Brand Consistency**: Maintain consistency in the design and style to reinforce the brand’s identity, aesthetics, and vision.
- **Presentation**: Prepare design presentations, mood boards, and lookbooks to present new collections to internal teams, clients, or at trade shows.
- **Feedback Integration**: Incorporate feedback from stakeholders, including customers, sales teams, and buyers, into future collections to improve product offerings.
**Qualifications**:
- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
- **Experience**: Minimum 2 years of experience as a fashion designer, preferably within a clothing brand or fashion house.
- **Skills**:
- Strong proficiency in design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD software).
- Excellent knowledge of garment construction, têxtiles, and fashion history.
- Ability to sketch and communicate design ideas effectively.
- Strong understanding of fashion trends, color theory, and fabric properties.
- Creative and innovative mindset with the ability to think outside the box.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good understanding of production processes and timelines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- A portfolio showcasing your design work and process (required).
**Working Conditions**:
- Full-time position.

- Some overtime may be required during peak seasons or before collection launches.
