**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Database Management**: Install, configure, and upgrade DB2 database instances. Ensure databases are properly maintained and secure.
- **Performance Tuning**: Monitor and optimize database performance. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- **Backup and Recovery**: Develop and implement robust backup and recovery strategies. Perform regular database backups and recovery tests.
- **Security**: Implement and manage database security policies. Ensure data privacy and protection through appropriate access controls.
- **Troubleshooting**: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues. Provide support for database-related incidents and outages.
- **Automation**: Develop and maintain scripts for automating database management tasks.
- **Documentation**: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.
- **Compliance**: Ensure database operations comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- **Experience**: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in DB2 database administration.
- **Technical Skills**:

- Proficiency in DB2 database installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Strong understanding of SQL and database performance tuning techniques.
- Experience with DB2 backup and recovery processes.
- Knowledge of database security best practices.
- Familiarity with database monitoring and management tools.
- Experience with automation scripts (e.g., Shell, Perl, Python).
- **Soft Skills**:

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience with DB2 on different operating systems (e.g., Linux, UNIX, Windows).
- Certification in DB2 database administration.
- Experience with cloud-based database environments.
