1. Medical Care and Treatment:

- Conduct regular medical assessments, including physical examinations and medical history reviews, for all residents.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and diseases.
- Prescribe medications and administer treatments as necessary.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for residents, considering their specific healthcare needs.
- Coordinate with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses, specialists, and therapists, to ensure comprehensive and multidisciplinary care.

2. Emergency Response:

- Be available on-site to respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide immediate care.
- Stabilize residents in critical conditions and arrange for appropriate medical interventions, including hospital transfers if required.
- Provide guidance and training to facility staff on emergency response procedures, including basic life support techniques.

3. Preventive Care:

- Design and implement preventive care programs tailored to the elderly population, such as vaccination campaigns, health screenings, and health education initiatives.
- Promote healthy lifestyles, disease prevention, and wellness among residents through regular health assessments, counseling, and educational sessions.

4. Collaboration and Communication:

- Collaborate with the facilitys multidisciplinary team, including nurses, caregivers, therapists, and social workers, to ensure integrated care delivery.
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and facility management regarding medical conditions, treatment plans, and any changes in health status.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each resident, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

5. Continuous Professional Development:

- Stay updated with the latest advancements in geriatric medicine, best practices, and regulatory guidelines.
- Attend relevant medical conferences, seminars, and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Participate in peer review and quality improvement activities to maintain and improve the quality of healthcare services provided.
- Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution. - Valid license to practice medicine in the relevant jurisdiction. - Board certification or specialization in geriatric medicine is preferred. - Previous experience in geriatric or long-term care is highly desirable. - Strong clinical skills and the ability to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions commonly seen in elderly populations. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and a diverse team of healthcare professionals. - Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make sound clinical judgments. - Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and medical software. - Commitment to patient-centered care, compassion, and empathy for the elderly population.
