**About the Projects**:
National Centre for Human Settlement & Environment (NCHSE) is implementing a number of Projects on Climate Smart /Resilient Agricultural Practices in villages of Sehore, Dewas & Vidisha districts of Madhya Pradesh.

The project promotes Climate-smart agriculture (CSA) with climate smart village (CSV) concept, which include water smart, weather smart, nutrient smart, seed smart, carbon smart & knowledge smart. This approach helps the farmers in taking actions needed to transform and reorient agricultural systems to effectively support development and ensure food security in a changing climate. CSA aims to tackle three main objectives: sustainably increasing agricultural productivity and incomes; adapting and building resilience to climate change; and reducing and/or removing greenhouse gas emissions, where possible. Accordingly, it promotes following actions:

- Water and soil conservation measures to improve soil moisture content in agricultural lands and reduce soil loss from the agricultural lands
- Integrated water management;
- Organic farming to discourage use of chemicals in agriculture
- Regeneration, conservation and optimum utilization of natural resources in the project area for enhancing livelihood of watershed community.
- Promote regeneration of the ecology by increasing vegetative covers for drought proofing.
- Providing livelihood opportunities for the poor; and facilitating employment opportunities and economic avenues, particularly for women and marginal families.
- Creating and strengthening farmer’s institutions for bringing value addition in the present farming system.
- Capacity building of farmers in implementation of CSA practices through Farmers Field School (FFS) and demonstration of actions in their fields,
- Enable the local WUGs & Community to manage and maintain their asset.
- Convergence with Government schemes, especially that of Agriculture department

NCHSE requires qualified and experienced Agriculturist (preferably specialization in Agronomy/ Horticulture) to assist implementation of project in Sehore, Dewas and Vidisha Districts.

**Responsibilities and Duties**

Agriculturist will be responsible for the following:

- Programme implementation in coordination with ITC, Government line department and local beneficiaries,
- organize field demonstration and conduct training programmes on CSA & CSV Practices through FFS
- Facilitate convergence with Government schemes to benefit the farmers
- monitoring of progress against the target set for the Project area.
- Reporting progress in desired format and schedule to NCHSE & ITC

Required Qualification: Post-graduate in Agriculture (Agronomy/Horticulture). Graduate applicants should not apply

**Experience**:
Minimum 2 years working experience in implementation of Agriculture sector projects

**Additional Knowledge and Skills required**:
Ability to guide farmers in adopting Climate-smart agricultural practices

IT Skills including fluency in Microsoft office and database usage

**Job Types**: Full-time, Contractual / Temporary
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: ₹300,000.00 - ₹350,000.00 per year
