Stenographer & Typist

A stenographer is a professional who transcribes the spoken word into coded language. They typically use shorthand and a steno machine to transcribe information. Stenographers may also caption live broadcasts for the deaf and elderly. They learn a type of shorthand which allows them to take notes rapidly. They may learn to type at a speed of up to 225 words per minute or more. Stenographers are accurate typists and undergo long periods of training to hone their skills.

Typing and taking dictation in shorthand
- Writing, transcribing and compiling office documents
- Transcribing the typed materials accurately into common language
- Keeping careful records of files, documents and other official materials
- Arranging meetings and collecting information for supervisors
- Maintaining confidentiality of official documents and affairs
- Maintaining proper order of documents to be handed to officers
- Arranging and presenting documents in a logical order
- Keeping reference books, rules and ordinances up to date
- Keeping track of the progress of cases until they are closed

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: ₹20,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
