Freelance Cinematographer

Sanchit Art, a prestigious high-end commercial art gallery, is seeking a talented Freelance Cinematographer to collaborate with our creative team on a project basis. As a Freelance Cinematographer, you will be responsible for capturing captivating visuals and creating stunning video content that showcases our art collection, exhibitions, and events.

**Role and Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with the creative team to understand project objectives and artistic vision.
- Capture high-quality visuals showcasing the beauty, detail, and essence of artwork, exhibitions, and events at Sanchit Art.
- Create visually compelling video content that aligns with the gallery's artistic direction and brand identity.
- Utilize lighting techniques, camera equipment, and editing software to enhance the visual impact of the footage.
- To create seamless and polished final products, perform video editing tasks, including trimming, color grading, and incorporating motion graphics.
- Adhere to project timelines and deliver high-quality video content within agreed-upon deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with the creative team to ensure project objectives are met.

**Required Qualification**:

- Proven work experience as a Cinematographer or similar role, demonstrating expertise in capturing visually compelling content.
- Proficient knowledge of camera equipment, lighting techniques, and video editing software.
- Strong portfolio showcasing previous video projects and the ability to create visually captivating content.
- Excellent understanding of composition, framing, and color grading.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a creative team environment.
- Attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.

**Preferred Qualification**:

- Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Cinematography, or a related field.
- Experience working in the art or creative industry, capturing and showcasing art through video.
- Familiarity with art terminology and an understanding of visual arts aesthetics.
- Knowledge of motion graphics and animation techniques.
- Experience with drone operation and aerial cinematography.
- Proficiency in video editing software and the ability to seamlessly edit footage, incorporate graphics, and enhance the visual impact of the videos.

**Working Conditions**:

- The Freelance Cinematographer will work on a project basis, with flexible working hours based on project requirements.
- Availability to work on-site at Sanchit Art's location for shoots.
- Physical ability to carry and set up camera equipment, lighting rigs, and other production gear.
- Willingness to travel for shoots, as required.

**Common Types of Videos**:
The Cinematographer will be responsible for creating various types of videos, including but not limited to:

- Art Exhibition Showcases: Capturing and showcasing art exhibitions held at Sanchit Art, highlighting the artworks, installations, and the overall ambiance.
- Artist Interviews: Conducting interviews with artists to delve into their creative process, inspirations, and the stories behind their artwork.
- Artwork Close-ups: Creating visually captivating videos that highlight the intricate details and unique features of individual artworks.
- Virtual Tours: Producing engaging virtual tours of the gallery, allowing online visitors to explore the different exhibition spaces and collections.
- Artwork Installations: Documenting the process of installing and setting up artwork within the gallery, providing insights into the behind-the-scenes efforts.
- Event Coverage: Capturing the energy and excitement of special events hosted by Sanchit Art, such as art openings, panel discussions, and workshops.
- Art Collection Highlights: Creating videos that showcase specific art collections or highlight notable pieces in the gallery's collection.
- Collaborative Projects: Documenting collaborative projects with other artists, organizations, or institutions, highlighting the creative process and outcomes.
- Promotional Videos: Producing engaging videos that promote Sanchit Art, its collections, and the unique experience visitors can expect.
- Behind-the-Scenes: Offering glimpses into the day-to-day workings of the gallery, featuring interviews with gallery staff, curators, and other team members.

**Seamlessly editing and enhancing these videos is crucial to delivering polished and impactful final products.

**Please note that as a freelance Cinematographer, compensation will be discussed on a project-by-project or on an hourly basis for shoots and per-minute-of-final-output-basis for video editing.
