**Title**: Policy Intern (Policy Research & Advocacy)

We leverage the power of collectives and communities in changing mainstream narratives to create a just, equitable world for all, including animals. By leveraging the power of collectives, participatory decision-making, and partnerships, we create a powerful, unstoppable momentum for sustainability, equity, and protection of nature and animals.

We do this by bringing together change agents, key stakeholders, and partners for reimagining food systems in India and using strategic levers of policy and public advocacy to implement just actions. Together, we aim to advance plant-forward consumer advocacy and public policy advocacy and to enable a transition to plant-forward and sustainable food systems.

**Positions**: Policy Intern (One)

**Location**: Flexible timing/work from home but 3-4 hours commitment

**Job description**:
We seek a Policy Intern to start immediately, with a background in Legal or Policy Research and Advocacy. As the Intern, you will work with the Policy Team at Samayu. You will research information, write drafts of documents, communicate with policy stakeholders, analyze policies and data, and work towards solid policy advocacy for Samayu's goal. You need to have an in-depth understanding of food system issues, climate and environmental issues, and the strategic positions of critical actors, including farmers, policymakers, financial institutions, economic leaders, civil society, and animal activists, along with media editors, etc. on the prospects of alternative livelihood opportunities and implementation of One Health approach in the animal agriculture sector have to be an advocate.

**Duration**: Initially for 6 months (may be extended based on performance)

**Qualification**:
Essential: Bachelor’s Degree in Public Policy/Law/Development Studies/Climate or Environment Studies or related fields

**Skills**:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, self-motivated, and attentive to detail

Excellent research, analysis, and writing skills in English and Hindi

Prior experience in relevant fields and associated policy frameworks will be an added advantage

Skills in Google Docs, Slides, Spreadsheet, etc.
