**Overview**:
Founded in 2011, Ekya Schools is a chain of progressive K-12 schools in Bangalore, India. The Ekya Learning Center (ELC) is an in-house academic cell that designs curriculum to neatly dovetail with Ekya’s culture, instruction, assessments and professional development. ELC impacts learning experiences for 9000 students and 400 faculty members.

**Roles & Responsibilities**

**Teaching and Learning of Hindi**:

- Design the program for Hindi as Second Language and Third Language.
- Lead the development of appropriate curriculum, resources, events, competitions, field trips, teaching strategies and schemes of learning.
- Ensure that grade level standards are set and achieved.
- Lead and implement required changes to the child’s learning experience so that Hindi becomes an exciting and engaging learning area.
- Work in collaboration with English and Kannada curriculum developers to ensure consistency and improvement across all learning areas.
- Creating documented and standardized teaching routines and procedures for language learning.

**Assessing and Evaluating**:

- Design language assessments.
- Evaluate assessment data to identify trends in pupil performance and issues for development.
- Develop instruments to measure learning and evidence the positive impact of introduced changes.
- Identify student progress levels throughout the schools and ensure teaching-learning strategies and resources are in place to meet consistent high levels.

**Professional Development**:

- Support teachers in planning appropriate strategies to achieve the objectives of the learning area.
- Participate in the Ekya’s review cycle through lesson observations, feedback to teaching staff and work sampling.
- Prepare training modules for the language teachers to help them improve their practice.

**Other areas**:

- Identify publishers that might want to publish student work in addition to working with the ELC members to internally publish student’s original short stories or book of poems.
- Writing blog posts to communicate our Hindi Language program.
- Prepare and present at parent orientations for better understanding of the program by all.

**Required Core Competencies include**:

- In-depth understanding of the priority, sequencing and progression of various concepts in Hindi learning from Grade 1 to 10.
- Outstanding organizational skills and high attention to detail; outstanding communication skills.
- Strong work-ethic, detail-driven, and a commitment to doing whatever it takes to get the job done.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and lead by example.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹350,000.00 per month
