We are searching for a sharp-eyed mental health nurse to tend to inpatient and outpatient psychiatric cases. A mental health nurse should co-create evidence-based protocols, administer prescribed treatment, and report on prominent deviations in patients' symptomology.
- **Job Title**:Mental Health Nurse
- **Location**: Birmingham, United Kingdom
- **Experience**:Minimum 6 Month experience into clinical setup (Mental Health department)
- **Salary**: Band 4 starting salary until Pin Number obtained. (£25,147 per annum), Band 5 salary - matched to experience. (£28,407 - £34,581 per annum)
- **Education**: B.Sc. in Nursing, Post Basic in Nursing and Diploma
- **Language Certification**: IELTS Band 7 in all modules with Writing 6.5 or OET Grade B in all the modules and C+ Writing

**Responsibilities**:

- Conducting risk assessments and using de-escalation techniques when necessary.
- Building effective relationships with patients who need mental health support or who are in recovery.
- Listening and reassuring patients, and giving advice and arranging support for them and their relatives.
- Performing mental health tests and screenings, and monitoring vital signs and patient status.
- Administering treatment under medical guidance from a physician, psychiatrist, or other authorized prescriber.
- Encouraging patients to engage in therapeutic activities, such as occupational therapy or cognitive behavioral therapy.
- Recommending patients to psychiatrists and psychologists for further examination if needed.
- Assisting patients to develop social skills and live their lives independently and happily.
