**Position Overview**:
As a Research Associate, the individual plays a crucial role in supporting the research efforts of a team or organization. The role encompasses various responsibilities related to training, research, publications, and quality control of data.

**Core Roles and Responsibilities: 70%**

**Conduct Research**:

- Assist in designing research studies, including developing research protocols, data collection tools, and methodologies.
- Conduct literature reviews to gather relevant information and identify gaps in existing knowledge.
- Collect and analyze data, ensuring accuracy and reliability in the research process.

**Training and Capacity Building**:

- Provide training and support to research team members on research methodologies, data collection techniques, and ethical considerations.
- Mentor junior researchers and interns to enhance their research skills and knowledge**.**

**Publications and Reporting**:

- Contribute to the writing of research reports, research papers, and other publications, adhering to academic standards and publication guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members to prepare research findings for presentations at conferences and workshops.

**Data Quality Control**:

- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of research data by conducting regular data quality checks and validations.
- Implement data management protocols to safeguard data privacy and security.

**Research Documentation**:

- Maintain comprehensive documentation of research processes, including data collection protocols, analytical procedures, and research reports.

**Link Responsibilities: 15%**
- Contribute to the dissemination of research findings through presentations, workshops, and knowledge-sharing events.
- Assist in translating research findings into actionable recommendations for program implementation and policy development.

**Systemic Responsibilities: 15%**
- Engage in upholding and strengthening the core values of the organisation, foster transparent and open feedback system.

Qualifications and Experience:

- A master’s degree in Statistics /Economics/ Social Sciences/ Demography or related discipline is preferred, with minimum 2-5 years of working experience in non-profits.
- Relevant certifications on database management, learning tools, data analytics, research tools and methodologies will be preferred and add on to the profile.

Skills and competencies:

- Experience in designing research studies and program evaluations, including selecting appropriate methodologies and sampling techniques.
- Experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis, using software such as Excel, SPSS, or NVivo to derive meaningful insights and inform decision-making.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively.
- Knowledge of ethical considerations related to data collection
- Ability to effectively present complex data through data visualization techniques, such as charts, graphs, and dashboards, to communicate findings to diverse audiences.

Salary for the advertised position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
