**Description**

**What does SALT team do?**

Our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice assists clients in assessing state and local tax burdens by recommending solutions that support their overall business objectives and providing support so that their filing positions are consistent with good business practices and with the states' applicable tax laws and rules. Due to our tremendous growth we're seeking an Associate to join our team.

As an Associate within SALT, you will:

- Assist in the tax planning and compliance process for multi-state corporate income/franchise and pass-through entities
- Assist in state and local tax advisory services, including refund reviews, nexus studies, voluntary disclosures, tax minimization studies for income/franchise tax purposes
- Research multi-state income/franchise tax issues and developments
- Regularly be exposed to sales and use taxes, gross receipts taxes, employment taxes, credits and incentives, and property taxes
- Assist with creating deliverables that are concise, complete and address the elements deemed critical by the client
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and clearly communicate work plan, project objectives, and timelines
- Seek out opportunities to understand others’ experiences, perspectives and differences
- Build internal relationships with other members of the Tax team

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Accounting or Business Administration
- 1-3 years of relevant experience with State and Local Tax
- CPA or Licensed Attorney (or in the process of pursuing)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
- Experience with all Microsoft Office products
- Ability to simultaneously work on several projects and effectively manage deadlines
- High motivation to learn and grow
- Detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills
