Job Description of a Computer Teacher (V- IX)

Job Responsibilities
- **Curriculum Development**: Design and implement a curriculum that covers basic and intermediate computer skills, including internet safety, basic programming, digital citizenship, and the use of various software tools such as word processors, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
- **Instruction**: Teach students through both theoretical and practical lessons, ensuring that content is appropriate for the age and proficiency level of the students. Lessons may include typing, research skills, coding, and the ethical use of technology.
- **Classroom Management**: Maintain a structured and disciplined classroom environment conducive to learning and free from distractions.
- **Assessment**: Create and administer assessments to evaluate student progress and understanding. This includes both practical and theoretical evaluations.
- **Professional Development**: Stay updated with the latest technological advancements and educational methods in computer science education. Attend workshops, webinars, and conferences to continually enhance teaching skills.
- **Technical Support**: Often, computer teachers also play an informal role in providing basic tech support and troubleshooting issues in their classrooms or the computer lab.
- **Student Guidance and Support**: Serve as a mentor to students, encouraging them to explore their interests in technology and guiding them in projects or clubs related to computing, such as a robotics club or coding camp.

Required Skills and Qualifications
- **Educational Background**: Typically requires at least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Education with a focus on technology, or a related field.
- **Teaching Certification**: Must have or be eligible to obtain a teaching certificate or license appropriate for teaching in a middle school in the respective state or country.
