System Maintenance and Monitoring:
- Ensuring the smooth functioning and maintenance of the organization's IT systems, including servers, networks, and hardware.
- Monitoring system performance and addressing any issues to minimize downtime and ensure optimal functionality.
Security and Compliance:
- Implementing and maintaining robust security measures to protect the organization's IT infrastructure from cyber threats and unauthorized access.
- Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards.
User Support and Training:
- Providing technical support to users, troubleshooting issues, and resolving IT-related problems in a timely manner.
- Conducting training sessions to educate users on best practices for using IT systems and tools.
Backup and Recovery:
- Implementing and managing backup solutions to safeguard critical data and ensure its availability in case of system failures or data loss.
- Developing and testing disaster recovery plans to minimize the impact of potential system outages.
System Upgrades and Patch Management:
- Planning and executing system upgrades, including software updates, patches, and new installations, to enhance system performance and security.
- Managing the deployment of patches and updates to address vulnerabilities and maintain system integrity.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures for reference and troubleshooting purposes.
- Generating reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and security incidents for management review.
Purchase and Future Planning:
- Planning and submitting a report to management for new hardware and software purchase.
Old and new Hardware management & Recycling:
- Inventory Management: Maintain a comprehensive inventory of all hardware assets, including details such as age, condition, and usage history, to identify older hardware that may need replacement or recycling.
- Decommissioning Process: Establish a clear process for decommissioning old hardware, including data wiping or destruction to ensure sensitive information is securely handled before disposal or recycling.
- Hardware Upgradation: Evaluate the performance and compatibility of older hardware, and consider potential upgrades or repurposing to extend the lifespan of assets before considering recycling.
- Environmentally Responsible Disposal: Develop partnerships with certified e-waste recycling facilities to ensure responsible disposal of old hardware, minimizing environmental impact and adhering to regulatory requirements
- Data Security Compliance: Ensure that the disposal or recycling process aligns with data security and privacy regulations, including proper data sanitization methods to protect sensitive information stored on old hardware.
- Asset Tracking and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of hardware disposal and recycling activities, including documentation of the disposal process and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Donation or Reuse Opportunities: Explore options for donating older but functional hardware to charitable organizations or educational institutions as an alternative to recycling, where appropriate.
- Cost Analysis: Conduct cost-benefit analysis to determine the economic viability of recycling old hardware versus potential refurbishment or replacement, considering factors such as maintenance costs and energy efficiency.
