**roles and responsibilities** of an **admission counselor**:
1. **Student Recruitment and Outreach**
- **Promote the Institution**: Represent the institution at high school fairs, college visits, and recruitment events to attract prospective students.
- **Engage in Outreach Activities**: Organize and participate in outreach activities, such as campus tours, open houses, and information sessions.
- **Develop Relationships with Schools**: Build relationships with high schools, guidance counsellors, and other institutions to increase awareness and interest in the school.

2. **Provide Information and Guidance**
- **Advising on Academic Programs**: Counsel prospective students on choosing the right academic program or major based on their interests, academic background, and career goals.
- **Assist with Financial Aid and Scholarships**: Offer advice on scholarships, grants, and other financial aid opportunities available at the institution.

3. **Application Review and Evaluation**
- **Conduct Interviews**: In some institutions, admission counselors may conduct interviews to assess applicants' suitability for the institution.

4. **Building Relationships with Prospective Students**
- **Individual Counseling**: Offer one-on-one counseling sessions to prospective students and their families to answer questions, provide support, and help with the decision-making process.
- **Provide a Personalized Experience**: Tailor information and advice to the individual needs and circumstances of each prospective student, addressing their unique concerns and goals.

- **Networking**: Engage with other admission counsellors and professionals within the field to share knowledge, challenges, and best practices.
