Horticultural Officer

Spriggen Gardener, located in Kochi provides various services such as Garden Maintenance, Landscaping, Balcony Gardening and Urban Gardening. The Horticulture Officer will supervise the setup and maintenance of the Spriggen Gardener services with a team of gardeners. The role holder is responsible for multiple sites and will interact with the clients to ensure satisfaction of contracted work to ensure Spriggen Gardener revenue streams are operating smoothly.

**General Duties and Responsibilities**
- Provide professional advice on the selection, ordering, planting, and maintenance of trees, shrubs, ground covers, and turf grasses required at various site
- Plan and design annual and perennial flower beds
- Grow potted plants and nursery stock and maintains record on the operation
- Prepare order for various types of plants and seeds as required for projects
- Supervise and train ground personnel in the techniques of pruning, weeding, wound dressing, cavity repair, and the cabling and bracing of trees and shrubs.
- Maintain inventories, maps, and labels trees and shrubs on campus for instructional and maintenance purposes
- Manage the preparation of maintenance programme for the control of plant diseases, soil health, insects and climatic conditions
- Ensure irrigation and drainage facilities as appropriately required
- Create work schedules for gardeners
- Train and supervise subordinate personnel in greenhouse operations and in the proper methods and techniques of planting plants
- Confer with Landscape Architect and Project Manager and other personnel in the selection of plants

**Duties and Responsibilities: Specific to the Current Role**
- Support the Project Management team in the preparation of Bill of Quantities
- Explore and visit plant nurseries, evaluate health and quality of plants and negotiate prices
- Support the design team in areas related to design creation and modifications
- Responsible for designing corporate gifts

- Create, update and manage the Encyclopedia of plants

**Education and Experience**
- A graduate degree from an accredited college or university in an appropriate curriculum. A post-graduate degree is preferred.

**Salary**: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
