**About the Client**: PSS has been mandated to hire a Chief Financial Officer for a leading Biotechnology company.

**Job Purpose**: To optimize the shareholder value of the Company and for this purpose ensures formulation, adoption, and execution of the appropriate corporate and business strategies.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- To continue to develop the overall vision, strategic direction, and mission for the company; evaluate alternative strategies; identify competitive issues; capitalize on core strengths and technologies; and develop and implement operating plans to achieve the business objectives.
- To optimize the shareholder value of the Company and for this purpose ensures formulation, adoption, and execution of the appropriate corporate and business strategies.
- To assist the MD to establish the strategic direction and organize the corporate structure to optimize fund raising, valuation and prepare the Company for an IPO. To manage the IPO process along with Managing Director and the IPO Team including but not limited to Investor Relations, enterprise Risk Management and MD/CFO Certification and Audit Committee requirements.
- To ensure accountability through designing, setting up and implementing appropriate structures, management controls & reporting, systems, and processes
- To ensure the efficient, smooth, and orderly functioning of the Company's Administration as per the requirements of the strategy being pursued.
- To devote special attention and ensure that the high talent of the group of executives and staff working for the Company are retained, nurtured, and strengthened with a continuing high team spirit since the successful performance of the Company depends almost wholly on continued accretions to Intellectual Capital
- Negotiating and finalizing the raising of funds by way of equity and loans, both short term and long term, as per the requirement of the Company, from Financial institutions and banks on terms and conditions most advantageous to the Company with a view to ensure that the Company is able to meet its business milestones, to build business relationships with financial institutions, banks and private investors, to plan, budget, forecast and manage the Cash flow and financial affairs of the Company, to chart out monthly revenues and expenditure statements for the Company in advance for each month and to advise the Chief Executive Officer on a regular basis of the financial needs of the Company
- Setting up internal audit mechanisms so that an efficient system of checks and balances is in operation, liaise with the Corporate Auditors on strengthening the internal audit mechanism and to ensure that the Books of Accounts of the Company strictly comply with the Indian Accounting Standards laid down by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India constituted under the Chartered Accountants Act 1949.
- Preparing the annual and weekly financial budget for meeting the Company's Business Plan and to submit a report every week, month, and quarter to the MD, reflecting the business performance of the Company against the annual/weekly financial budget prepared by him/her.
- Advising the Company on efficient tax planning.
- The management of the Company's Finance function by extending leadership and ensuring accountability of all Executive staffs in Finance in the discharge of their respective duties and functions.
- To assess the market and business to establish a long-term corporate value.
- To structure and organize the presentation of the corporate group, business units, branches, products and services to internal and external partners and prospects.
- To perform necessary due diligence and assure that all relevant concerns are addressed in structuring a fund raising or a strategic deal.
- To work effectively with potential partners and investors and interact with unit leaders, customers, scientific leaders VC international organizations.
- Prepare the contract revenue and expenditure budget, and for budget follow up.
- Ensure that contracts secured are deliverable in terms of capacity (human resources and equipment), consumables, quality, and time.
- Ensure proper cost-benefit calculations are done for potential projects and follow up on actual cost -benefit calculations.
