**DESCRIPTION**
As part of a formal apprenticeship or regional training program, the Electrical Maintenance Technician assists more experienced employees to learn and develop skills in services, support, and maintenance within the determined location and specialty (i.e., Electrician). The role involves performing activities under moderate supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- **Safety** : Maintain safe work habits and actions in all aspects of daily tasks. Evaluate reactive work for safety issues, plan projects with safety as a priority, and review preventative work for unforeseen safety hurdles.
- **Diagnostics** : Learn to diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatuses, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of breakdowns and correct problems.
- **Maintenance Tracking** : Utilize software to track, assign, and prioritize reactive, planned, preventative, and predictive maintenance work, and building management systems.
- **Cross-functional Repairs** : Perform work cross-functionally to make repairs within one’s capability.
- **Work Conditions** : Perform work in a wide variety of conditions, such as extreme heat, cold, moisture, and confined spaces.
- **Training** : Attend classes and on/off-site training programs (travel if required) and make appropriate progress necessary to build basic skills and knowledge required to pass local certification.
- **Improvement Projects** : Participate in improvement projects and use common problem-solving techniques while working alone or in teams.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Experience**:
- Requires some work experience or intermediate-level knowledge obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.
- **Skills**:
- Awareness of electrical safety, LOTO, audits, and standards.
- Experience with energy management systems, preventative maintenance, and facility upgrades.
- Physical ability to work on-site, conduct inspections, and address system failures.
- Managing projects, budgets, and maintenance experience.
- Expert in Excel and presentation skills.

- **Facilities Operation** : Managing occupant services (parking, janitorial services, food services, concierge, facility helpdesk, security, and safety); managing the maintenance contracting process; developing and managing the facility’s operational planning requirements (temperature control, lighting, equipment replacement, water treatment, etc.).
- **Facility Electrical Technical** : Troubleshooting, repairing, and installing electrical distribution systems, bus bars, breaker boxes, motors, and other electrical equipment to enable the facility to operate properly with lights and electricity provided to the production activities.
- **Facility HVAC Technical** : Troubleshooting, repairing, and installing heating equipment, boilers, ventilation systems, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, and other mechanical equipment to provide heating or cooling as needed to the facility, people, and processes of producing products.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Qualifications**:
- **Education** : Diploma in electrical or related educational background.
- **Licenses** : Electrical supervisor license preferred.
- **Experience** : Minimum 3-4 years of experience in electrical LT and HT operation and maintenance.
