**The Opportunity**:
This role sits within the FRTB Programme Team as the SA Applications Co-ordinator globally. The jobholder is expected to work closely with the E2E Delivery Manager for FRTB SA Reporting and the Feature Delivery Lead for SA Application and provide support on the various initiative related to the FRTB regulatory book of work.
**What you’ll do**:
**Role Purpose**
This role sits within the FRTB Programme Team as the SA Applications Co-ordinator globally. The jobholder is expected to work closely with the E2E Delivery Manager for FRTB SA Reporting and the Feature Delivery Lead for SA Application and provide support on the various initiative related to the FRTB regulatory book of work.
**Key Accountabilities**
**Impact on Business**
- Representing the FRTB central team and FRTB Programme coordinator for Asia.
- Ensuring coordination and completion of e2e activities with respect to the delivery of SA Applications, including; provision of SME analysis skills, schedule and RAID management in respect of these deliverables, and being hands on with all stakeholder groups in the pursuit of the model analysis and in resolving issues and challenges encountered.
- Provide guidance and support to MSS Business heads; and ensure participation from all F2B departments ahead of the FRTB SA obligations starting.
**Customers / Stakeholders**
- Global and regional Market Risk Functions, Traded Risk Senior management team, GRA Regional Heads and regional Policy leads, Traded Risk IT
- Finance - Group Regulatory Policy and Business Regulatory Reporting teams including IT.
- Front office
- Quants and IT
- Middle Office Business and IT
- Central Programme stakeholders and Senior Programme mgmt.
- External Regulators

**Leadership & Teamwork**
- Provide leadership to regions on the implementation of Alternate Formulations for FRTB SA and the submission of the SA Application themselves to the regulators in a F2B capacity
- The role holder will be expected to work with regional and Group teams to develop and communicate solutions.
**Operational Effectiveness & Control**
- Develop consistent policy standards across regional sites.
- Drive for improvement in our change standards including looking at tooling enhancements.
- Ensure consistent and accurate regulatory submissions in both the traceability domain and the GO live checkpoints.
**Major Challenges**
- Vast reach of global regulatory change from Basel 2.5,3, CRR2/ CRR3, HKMA, ECB, OSFI, CBIRC etc. The jobholder needs to be able to work in an environment of regulatory ambiguity with autonomy whilst being able to provide judgment and clear direction.
- The jobholder will need to work closely with Markets Security Services to communicate regulatory developments and assist with ensuring that regulatory requirements are met.
**Role Context**
FRTB Programme Central Team is responsible for the E2E delivery and implementation of the FRTB global market risk capital obligations. The jobholder is expected to work in a global team context.
**Management of Risk**
The jobholder is responsible for internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points.
**Observation of Internal Controls**
The jobholder is expected to maintain HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by regulators.
Requirements
**What you will need to succeed in the role**:
**Qualifications**
Educated to university degree level or equivalent and, and it would be desirable for them to hold a relevant professional qualification (FRM, CFA)
**Experience**
- Experience in general or wholesale banking including Commercial Banking, Global Banking & Markets or Wholesale Credit
- Good knowledge of the regulatory landscape particularly relating to the Fundamental Review of the Trading Book or previous experience in a Regulatory Capital policy function. Knowledge of regulatory landscape globally (PRA, ECB, FED, HKMA, CBIRC, MAS, OJK etc) is advantageous.
- Relevant working experience in a bank, rating agency, consultancy or advisory firm would be considered.
- Experience of Front to Back Process is advantageous.
- Experience of managing direct reports/ teams
- Some understanding of statistics and concepts of the risk modelling process would be advantageous.
**What additional skills will be good to have?**
- Ability to lead, manage and successfully deliver within the agreed time scale, in liaison with all relevant stakeholders: model owners, business, finance, senior management and regulator.
