The Physical Education (PE) Teacher is responsible for delivering a dynamic, engaging, and inclusive physical education program aligned with the philosophy and principles of the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. The PE teacher will promote physical fitness, teamwork, and the overall well-being of students, fostering a lifelong appreciation for healthy living and sportsmanship.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Curriculum Development and Instruction**:

- Design and implement a PE curriculum aligned with the IB philosophy, which emphasizes inquiry-based learning, physical fitness, and personal development.
- Create lesson plans that meet the needs of students with varying abilities and interests while covering IB requirements (PYP, MYP, and/or DP).
- Use diverse teaching methods to engage students in physical activities, sports, and fitness programs, fostering an appreciation for physical health.
- Integrate IB Learner Profile attributes into the PE curriculum, encouraging students to become reflective, balanced, and principled individuals.
- **Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring**:

- Conduct regular assessments of students' physical abilities, effort, and participation, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement.
- Maintain records of students' progress and develop reports in line with IB assessment standards, offering differentiated instruction to support all learners.
- Collaborate with the IB Coordinator to ensure assessments and learning activities align with IB requirements.
- **Classroom and Behavior Management**:

- Foster a safe, respectful, and encouraging learning environment where students are motivated to achieve their personal best.
- Implement positive classroom management techniques and enforce school behavior policies, ensuring a productive atmosphere during PE classes.
- **Extracurricular Activities and School Events**:

- Organize and lead extracurricular sports programs, competitions, and school-wide fitness events, encouraging student participation across all age groups.
- Prepare students for inter-school tournaments, fostering teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate physical education into whole-school events, such as Sports Day or health initiatives.
- **Collaboration and Professional Development**:

- Attend IB-specific training and workshops, staying current with best practices in both IB and physical education teaching methods.
- Participate in school meetings, committees, and other collaborative efforts to support the holistic development of students in line with the IB philosophy.
- **Health and Well-being Advocacy**:

- Act as an advocate for students' physical and mental well-being by encouraging a balanced, healthy lifestyle.
- Offer advice and guidance on fitness, nutrition, and overall health, supporting the personal and social education aspects of the IB curriculum.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Sports Science, or a related field. A teaching certification (or PGCE) is required.
- **Experience**: Prior experience teaching physical education, preferably in an IB or international school setting. Familiarity with the IB PYP, MYP, or DP curriculum is highly desirable.
- **Certifications**: First aid and CPR certification; coaching qualifications in specific sports (optional but preferred).
- **Skills**:

- Strong understanding of physical fitness, health, and sports coaching principles.
- Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learning styles and physical abilities.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in creating an inclusive, engaging, and motivating environment.
- Commitment to promoting the IB Learner Profile attributes.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
