**Role: Data Scientist, Quantitative Research**

**The Group**: Morningstar’s Quantitative Research Group creates independent data-driven analytics designed to help achieve better outcomes by making better decisions. We utilize analytical rigor and large data sets for informed methodologies we develop. Our research encompasses variety of data sets across Operations Analytics (People, Sales & Marketing, Investor) and Financial Analytics.

**The Role**: As a Data Scientist in the Quant Research squad, you will work as part of a specialized team researching data intensive products for investment management industry. Most of the research is integrated to Morningstar’s core products (Direct, Advisor Workstation etc.) and teams such as Morningstar Investment Management, Indexes, Credit Ratings, Pitchbook, Marketing etc.

**Responsibilities**:

- Support methodology development and execution of various Data Analytics models and dashboards in Marketing, HR and Financial Analytics domains.
- Drive independent research and showcase completed projects to senior Marketing stakeholders
- Leverage new structured and unstructured datasets to build new Quant frameworks that would help internal teams in informed decision making.
- Assisting development of Analytics-based solutions to scale information ingestion, storage, computation (training/inference), data and model validation.

**Requirements**:

- Graduate or Post-grad education with a focus in Finance, Statistics, Computer Science or Analytics.
- 2 to 4 years of data science background/experience in analytics or a financial services org.
- Experience working in Agile model and knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle.
- Knowledge of statistical models (e.g. Regression, forecasting, optimization, etc.).
- Working knowledge of tools such as Python, Tableau. Power BI, MS Azure, AWS, Athena, EMR, Lambda, PySpark etc. is preferred.
