A Kurti Fashion Designer is responsible for designing and creating kurtis, which are traditional Indian women's tops or tunics. This role involves conceptualizing and producing innovative and aesthetically pleasing designs that appeal to the target market. The designer works closely with manufacturers, artisans, and the production team to ensure that the designs are translated into finished products accurately and efficiently.

**Responsibilities**:
Designing: Creating original and trendy designs for kurtis while keeping in mind the target audience and market trends.

Research: Conducting market research to stay updated on current fashion trends, colors, fabrics, and patterns relevant to kurti designs.

Sketching and Illustration: Developing design concepts through sketches and illustrations to communicate ideas to clients, manufacturers, and production teams.

Fabric and Material Selection: Choosing suitable fabrics, trims, and materials for each design based on factors such as comfort, style, durability, and cost.

Color Palette Selection: Selecting appropriate color palettes that complement the design, the brand, and the target market.

Pattern Making: Creating patterns or templates for the production team to follow when cutting fabrics and assembling the kurtis.

Sampling: Overseeing the creation of sample garments to evaluate the fit, appearance, and functionality of the design before bulk production.

Collaboration: Collaborating with manufacturers, artisans, and production teams to ensure that the designs are accurately translated into finished products.

Quality Control: Monitoring the quality of finished kurtis to ensure that they meet the brand's standards and customer expectations.

Adaptation: Modifying and adapting designs based on feedback from clients, buyers, or production teams.

Required Work Experience, Skills, and Education:
Experience: Prior experience in fashion designing, particularly in designing kurtis or ethnic wear, is highly desirable. This experience can be gained through internships, apprenticeships, or previous employment in a similar role.

Design Skills: Proficiency in sketching, illustration, and creating technical drawings. Strong knowledge of color theory, fabric properties, and pattern making is necessary.

Creativity and Trend Awareness: Ability to generate fresh and innovative design ideas while staying up-to-date with the latest fashion trends and market demands.

Knowledge of Kurti Design: In-depth understanding of kurti styles, silhouettes, embellishments, and traditional Indian têxtile techniques is essential.

Technical Skills: Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) software and graphic design tools to create digital designs and presentations.

Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills to effectively convey design concepts and work collaboratively with manufacturers, artisans, and production teams.

Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate pattern making, fabric selection, and quality control.

Time Management: Effective time management skills to meet project deadlines and manage multiple design assignments simultaneously.

Fashion Degree: A bachelor's degree in fashion design or a related field is preferred but not always mandatory. Practical experience and a strong portfolio showcasing relevant designs can also be considered.
