**ROLE : V&V Architect**

**OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**:

- Take part in building the foundations of Alstom Signaling platforms by leading, organizing and performing the verification, integration and test activities of developments ranging from software, to product and system programs fitting the needs in terms of Quality, Cost and Delivery
- Define and lead all the in-house program activities related with Verification, Integration and Testing, either performed by a team in V&V department or delegated to experts in other DC departments. Cooperate with Signaling team to complement V&V activities with end-user integration scenarios.
- When Safety is involved, discuss and agree the overall V&V strategy with Safety Assurance Manager to ensure the achievement and demonstration of the requested safety targets.
- Share with Product Architect the V&V strategy defined to deliver a validated program and agree on requested budget and schedule of inputs and deliverables.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Define the Program Verification and Validation strategy in the V&V Plan, to ensure proper coverage and demonstration that design requirements and intended use cases are met. Collect the contributions of all involved stakeholders.
- Define and agree V&V activity schedule, organize and lead documental verification and reviews.
- Manage full verification and validation of the equipment/sw under test.
- Define needs, architecture and follow-up implementation of testbenches and analysis tools.
- Represent Alstom in front of customers or partners, for instance to provide overview of Test progress, issues, risks and opportunities.
- Manage functionally the Program Verification & Validation Team and ensure/control their deliverables for the project.
- Ensure independence of verification from design, Select and manage subcontractors, Manage work packages or WP tasks.

**EDUCATION**:
Bachelor/Post Graduate in Engineering - IT, CS, ECE & EEE or Equivalent

**BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES**:

- Be Innovative, identify automation opportunities and formulate test strategies to efficiently meet project goals, be agile and adaptive to Project dynamics.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, stakeholder management skills and able to guide, influence and convince others in the organization.
- Good Team player and have ownership towards assigned task & deliveries
- Be able to work with cross-functional teams located internationally.
- Demonstrate Alstom's AIR values (Agile, Inclusive, Responsible) at Workplace.

**TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES, SW SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**:

- 10 + years of experience in Software Verification and Validation, In-depth knowledge of SDLC & STLC.
- Expertise in Software Validation
- Creating test plans, test procedures based upon SW requirements and applicable standards. Execute test procedures in simulated and target environment, generating test reports. Good knowledge of test lab management and hardware integration.
- Expertise in testing methods and techniques like black box, white box, boundary value analysis, Robustness and regression analysis.
- Expertise in functional, non-functional, regression testing, bug tracking, bug analysis, identifying root cause and proposing solutions.
- Good Knowledge of scripting language like python would be added advantage.
- Good knowledge of automation techniques to convert manual test procedures into automated scripts.
- Good Knowledge of any configuration management tool and workflow management tool is essential (ex. ClearCase, ClearQuest,...)
- Protocols -TCP/IP, MODBUS, OPC
- Standards: CENELEC SIL4 / DO178.
- Knowledge in Railway Signalling Domain is a huge advantage.

**IT Skills**: MS office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

**LANGUAGE & SKILLS**:

- Proficient in English language
- Good written and Verbal communication skills
