**Position description**

Responsible for the offline CMM programming and operation, inspection of the CMM, the analysis and interpretation of drawings, manuals and other materials to determine specifications, to inspect and test procedures, and to communicate technical information to others, in an industrial setting.
This position typically works under very little supervision and provides guidance to other team members.

**Key responsibilities**
- Develop, modify or edit CMM inspection programs within offline environment which are intended for repeated use to inspect geometrically defined precision components
- Validate CMM inspection programs in accordance with customer standards
- Troubleshoot programming result errors and work holding issues with production personnel to optimize CMM programs
- Provide assistance with part programming projects from different sites either remotely or on-site as needed
- Work directly with ME/QE resources to determine inspection criteria as well as best practice inspection techniques
- Operate measurement equipment to perform machine trials on newly developed part programs and prepare them for machine readiness
- Develop custom inspection documents based on specific customer or engineering requests
- Interfaces directly with the ME/QE or manufacturing personnel to accurately explain measurement data obtained from the inspection process in order to provide clear assessment of inspection results
- Maintain compliance with engineering standards, validation procedures and best practices
- Develop CMM work instructions for the set-up and inspection of parts
- Organize and plan effectively to execute task in accordance with in scheduled time

**Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities**
- Possesses a minimum of diploma/BE in a technical field
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing field in a technical competence such as CMM, manufacturing engineer, quality engineer, process planner, etc.
- Has minimum of 3 years of experience in PCDMIS offline CMM operation including programming, setups and controls of different CMM platforms
- Must have strong math background and be capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Advanced knowledge of GD&T principles and their relation to inspection
- Familiarity with Quality practices and problem solving tools like statistical analysis, MSA, metrology and shop mathematics
- Possesses a solid attention to detail for accurate and repeatable measurements, recording data and interpreting engineering drawing
- Ability to write effectively, to read and understand work documents and to communicate information clearly to operators
- Ability to coach or mentor other team members, through instruction and personal example
- General knowledge of machines and inspection equipment functionalities, this includes the ability to learn new systems, understanding how parts inspects, and how they impact measurement system
- Ability to identify opportunities to improve current inspection processes and implement the necessary steps for the improvements.
- Ability and willingness to take ownership of work activities, to learn and understand company policies and procedures.
- The ability to define, diagnoses, and resolve problems
- The ability to process multiple types of information and/or perform multiple tasks simultaneously and the ability to follow work orders efficiently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills: To communicate effectively internally and with customer.
- Ability to consult and provide expertise in order to utilize the most effective methods for writing CMM programs for new products.
- Demonstrated knowledge of technological advancements and breakthrough's in the metrology industry.
- Experience with UG/NX/CATIA software is helpful
- Uses Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) proficiently
