- This position is located in Goma in the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO). The Chief of Service, Civil Affairs reports to the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General (DSRSG) for Protection and Operations. She/He coordinates the implementation of the Civil Affairs mandate of the mission, including managing the Civil Affairs component both at mission headquarters and field offices, and provides advice to the Head of Mission and senior mission staff on the strategic use of Civil Affairs resources to effectively pursue the implementation of the mission's mandate. The Chief of Service, Civil Affairs also liaises with other international and national partners to promote the peace building process.
