**Job Overview**
The LAN Cabling Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the physical network cabling systems used in local area networks (LANs). This includes running, terminating, and testing cables for Ethernet networks, ensuring optimal connectivity and functionality. The technician will work on a variety of projects, from new installations to system upgrades, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Installation**:
- Install and terminate structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic) for LAN networks.
- Run cables through walls, ceilings, and other spaces to connect workstations, routers, switches, and other network devices.
- Perform cable management to ensure clean and organized installations, minimizing potential interference or damage.
- **Maintenance and Troubleshooting**:
- Identify and resolve issues with existing cabling infrastructure, including diagnosing connectivity issues and faults.
- Repair or replace faulty cables, connectors, or devices to ensure the network is operating at peak performance.
- Test network cabling using tools such as cable testers and certification equipment.
- **Network Support**:
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure proper network setup and performance.
- Assist in the configuration and optimization of network hardware as needed.
**Skills and Qualifications**:
**Technical Skills**:
- Proficient in network cabling standards (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optics).
- Experience with cable testing tools (e.g., cable testers, certifiers).
- Basic understanding of network devices such as routers, switches, and patch panels.
- Knowledge of basic networking concepts (IP addressing, subnetting, etc.).
- **Problem-Solving**:
- Strong diagnostic skills to identify and resolve cabling issues quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to work under pressure to resolve downtime or issues impacting the network.
- **Education & Experience**:
- **High school diploma, ITI or equivalent; some** positions may require an associate degree or technical certification (e.g., CompTIA Network+, BICSI certification).
Pay: ₹13,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
