**PPS Practitioner**

**Purpose**:
Responsible for Process and Plant safety ensuring minimum risk topeople, property and community. Responsible for leading Process and Plant safety risk assessments Scope (global, regional or local):

- Interpret Process and Plant safety policy as laid down by Bayer Group and implement using Best Practices (PPS guidelines) as mentioned in PPS compendium
- Perform A1, A2, A3 and A4 with site/plant management groups andprovide recommendations for the safety of operating people and the environment
- Perform risk assessments for management of change with sitemanagement team and provide recommendations for the safe implementation of management of change in line with accepted Bayer guidelines 4. Provide Process and Plant safety risks for incorporating in site emergency response plans.
- Impart training on Process and Plant safety to plant personnel, thereby raising the awareness of hazard identification, risk assessments and its mitigation
- 6.Carry out periodic revalidation to ensure that safety concepts as agreed and documented during previous A3/A3R are in place and suggest improvements, if possible, to reduce the risks further using state of the art technology
- 7.Perform Acceptance safety review (A4-R) to verify that all action items from the detailed safety review revalidation have been implemented
- 8.Prepare Explosion Prevention and Protection Document (EPPD) to prevent explosions which could lead to serious consequences, both on site & off site and carry out technical inspection with the support of PPS, Centre Of Expertise,

**Key Tasks**:

- Maintain Bayer's "License to operate"
- Prevent injuries to the employees, community and minimise risksto property and surroundings.
- Reduce QHSE risks at the manufacturing sites and eliminate theadverse impact of our operations on the employees and the surrounding communities
- Ensure compliance of Bayer Global PPS guidelines
- Continually improve safety at manufacturing sites by conductingsafety reviews periodically and reducing the risks to "As Low As
- Reasonably Practicable" (ALARP)
- Maintain the image of the Organization in the large chemical

**Key Working Relation**:

- Reporting to Group Head of Process and Plant Safety, Engineering &Technology, India
- Work in close co-ordination with plant/site management teams at

Bayer, Vapi, Formulation, Filling and Packaging (FFP) sites of Product Supply (PS) - India, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and seeds sites in India. This would also cover FFP and seeds sites of legacy Monsanto

**Qualification & Competencies**:

- A degree in Chemical Engineering/Post Graduate in organic chemistry having total industrial experience of 15-20 years with around 2-3 years in chemical/pharmaceutical manufacturing plants
- Preferably 2-3 years experience in performing PHA or as a PHA facilitator for AI manufacturing or Formulation set up.
- Communicative and motivating
- Aptitude for Process and Plant Safety
- Additional skills: Knowledge of PHA Pro 8 (Electronic software assessment tool) though not necessary
